What I’m Reading

After indulging in mostly carefree fiction reading over the holidays and into January, I’m joyfully digging into a number of books in February to hopefully help me think more critically about life and faith. Here’s a few I’m enjoying right now:

Finished & Worth Noting:

  • Rhythms of Renewal | Rebekah Lyons
Update: I recently finished this one and thoroughly enjoyed the content, the quotable (and brief!) chapters, and the overall structure of the four Rhythms. Some of my favorite themes of little-by-little progress and making room for margin were present in the author’s kind and encouraging words.

Currently Reading:

  • Let Your Life Speak: Listening to the Voice of Vocation | Parker J. Palmer
  • Margin | Richard Swenson
  • Company of One | Paul Jarvis
  • Grown & Flown | Lisa Heffernan & Mary Dell Harrington
Note: I’m wayyyy ahead of of the ball on this book, intended for the parents of teens and young adults. I like to be prepared. It’s also the subject of a book club I’m attending, which is why it’s on my list.

Favorite Things

I discovered Airtable a few years ago and quickly fell in love with the flexibility, organization and potential of this super-cool tool. If you love a good spreadsheet (or just love to bring order to the chaos that is life), I encourage you to take a look. We’ve built everything from marketing plans, advertising traffic trackers, and meal planing tools to my recent favorite – my own dream project management tool.

I’m smiling every time I fill up this coffee mug. I received it as a Christmas gift and after the first use, I joyfully declared that I wasn’t just given a coffee mug; no, I was given the gift of hot coffee, sip after sip. If you’re constantly battling cold coffee due to distraction (hi!), being slow sipper (hi again!) or poor planning (it’s early in the morning, y’all!), bring the joy of hot coffee into your life.
